Abstract
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the association of stage of change for smoking cessation with smoking knowledge and attitude in women college students of Seoul Korea. This study was carried out on 224 university students who were smoking at 8 universities and 3 colleges located in Seoul area from March, 2018 to June, 2018. The subjects of the study distributed the online questionnaire and responded by self-filling.

Methods: The mean difference of continuous variables according to the intention of smoking cessation was verified through one-way ANOVA and post-test of scheffe was conducted to see how the significant difference appeared. Multinominal logistic regression analysis was performed to derive factors affecting smoking intentions of the subjects.
Results: The results showed that knowledge about smoking was not related to the stage of change for smoking cessation behavior, and attitude toward smoking has a significant influence on both contemplation(OR=1.09, CI=1.01-1.17) and preparation stage(OR=1.09, CI=1.02-1.17).

Conclusions: The results was suggested that the attitude toward smoking should have a positive effect on the smoking cessation, so that it was necessary to educate about the harmfulness of smoking and the benefit of smoking cessation for women college students.
